Research Democratization
Training Program
Company: Affirm
Role: Program Manager | Duration: Nov 2021 - Feb 2023
Overview

Problem
With Affirm being a +2,000-person company, the 11-person research team was not able to keep up with research requests.
Also, by trying to tackle as many requests as the research team could, they were not spending as much time on more strategic longitudinal studies.
This is a problem as strategic work steps out of the current app functions and focuses on innovation for future app features.
Goals
Eleviate the time that the reseach team spends on usability studies and increase the time researchers are able to send on strategic longidudianl studies.
Scale the program beyond the design department.
Eleviate the load of usability tests that the research team was not able to execute
Allow the research team to focus on more strategic longitudinal projects
Scale research to other stakeholders and teams in the company

Rebuild in Dovetail + Asana
First iteration
Built out in Google docs
The program started out in Google Docs, and within a few months I transitioned the program to Dovetail.
In Google Doc I built out a framework overview. This kicked off with a guide that broke down each step of the process;
what someone could expect by going through it,
estimated timelines
testimonial quotes from participants that went through the program previously so that users could understand a bit more about what they could expect from entering the program.
Built to scale
The secondary process was built out in Dovetail and Asana, so that the system could grow and scale to keep up with demand.
